"Oh ok sounds cool, I'm going to pull up in front of the building and let you out looks like there aren't any close spots." Troy said, as he double parked.

Isis leaned over toward Troy and hugged his neck then gave him a soft peck on the cheek. "Thanks a million." she whispered in his ear.

"No problem, Love, anytime. Hit me up if you tryna have a drink or two." Troy said sincerely.

He honestly just wanted to spend more time with her it had been a few months since they kicked it.

Isis climbed out of the truck and sashayed down the walkway to their building door, very aware that Troy's eyes were all over her plump ass. As she made it inside the building she thought, damn I wonder what it's like just to lay in Troy’s strong embrace. Isis giggled at her thoughts and proceeded to her apartment, as she got closer to her door her smile quickly faded into a frown.

"What the fuck?" she mouthed to herself.

Her apartment door had been kicked in. She peeped inside and then, retrieved her .38 snub nose from her Nike duffle bag. Isis crept through her apartment door. The apartment was dark but the light above the stove revealed that it had been ransacked. Isis lowered her pistol and stood in her dining room in disbelief. As she turned to walk back out her apartment door she saw what looked like writing on the dining room wall. She flicked on the light and the message became clear as she read it silently. Vaughn was fixing his mouth to say something to his estranged kids mom until a man appeared in the doorway behind her. Vaughn’s jaw tightened as the man read his message aloud.

"Bitch you dead." Troy pulled Isis from the apartment by the waist,

Vaughn was boiling with anger but he just sat there. He listened as a door nearby opening and closing shut. What the fuck? He was fuming as he walked out Isis' door and into the night.

. Troy was shocked at the disaster someone had made of Isis’s apartment. There was no way he would leave her there alone. He led her to the couch, where she sat in a daze.

Troy didn't bother mentioning what he saw in Isis' apartment once they were inside his apartment he locked his door and walked over in Isis' direction. She was deep in her own thoughts sitting on his couch, He wrapped his strong arms around her and gave her a warm comforting hug, and Isis just laid her head on his chest. Troy didn’t see the need to ask questions about what had happened. He saw that she was in distress so he just sat on the couch and pulled her into his arms. She buried her face in his chest for a moment.

"You hungry?” he asked in her ear. “Let’s go get something to eat and a couple drinks."

"I'm not really hungry, but I could use a drink." Isis replied as her sad eyes met his.
